Hottaping project in the Middle East

First leak sealing project in the Middle East
In November 2010, De Vin-Pass received an emergency call to join the contracting firm Denys on the repair of a Ø 700mm gas transport pipeline in Yemen. The pipeline had been badly damaged during a bomb attack by Yemenite rebels and had to be repaired as quickly as possible. The pipeline runs through mountainous terrain and connects the gas field with the LNG terminal in the port of Marib. Here the gas is liquefied and carried off to the customers in big ships.

Response and repair time
After the necessary materials had been flown in, the De Vin-Pass team flew from Brussels to Sanaa via Paris on 9 December 2010. From Sanaa they continued to Marib by light aircraft. They had estimated that the job would take two weeks and successfully completed the work within this time.
